Hey, I’m Jennifer Blanchard (and that blurry little ball of fur in the pic is my Poodle, Weiland). I’m a multipotentialite writer, coach, workshop teacher, speaker and social media consultant (with more things to come, I’m sure). I used to run from being a multipotentialite, trying to force myself into one niche.
You may remember me from the Procrastinating Writers blog. I spent almost four years writing about how to overcome writing procrastination. While I loved running that blog because I grew a large community of writers who wanted to better themselves and I learned so much from it, I was feeling stagnant. My multipotentialite-ness was kicking again and I knew it was time for a new project. But I didn’t want to abandon the blog I’d spent so much of my life on.
That’s when I came across Emilie Wapnick, the founder of Puttylike, and had a coaching session with her. She helped me figure out how to smoosh all of my interests (including my interests from Procrastinating Writers) into one blog. What resulted is InkyBites.
InkyBites—Nourish Your Creativity
I created InkyBites with the belief that creative energy comes from within. Sure, you get inspiration from the world around you, but you still have to be at your best internally if you’re going to do anything with it.
You become the best, most inspired and creative version of yourself when you’re being nourished with whole foods—that are natural, high quality, organic, unprocessed and unrefined–and are also getting your fill of primary food. Food of this quality not only nurtures your body, but it cleanses your mind and feeds your muse.
When you improve your diet and lifestyle, you’ll automatically open up the flood gates to your creative energy.
“You can’t eat junk and expect to live an un-junked life,”–Oprah
I firmly believe Oprah’s words of wisdom—when you junk your body up with fast food and junk food and never feed it anything nourishing, you’ll bring on things like “Writer’s Block,” lack of energy, lack of focus, procrastination and lack of ideas (among other things).
A Holistic Approach to Life and Creativity
If you are looking to be at your creative best for the long-haul, you need to learn how to make creativity your lifestyle, rather than something you do every now and then. The difference is life-changing. When you’re at your creative best, the possibilities are endless. The well is always full and you’ll finally get excitement and joy from your craft, whether that be writing, music, art or something else completely.
You live a creative lifestyle by learning how to integrate creativity into everything you do. You do it by discovering new ways to look at things. You create a life of constant inspiration by actively pursuing creative endeavors.
Through InkyBites I will teach you the tools you need to discover your creative energy and harness it for the long-haul.
More About Me
I’m a Certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. While going through my Health Coach training program I discovered that I’m allergic to wheat, gluten and dairy.
That realization drastically changed my life and sent me down a path of food discovery and re-learning how to enjoy food, regardless of the ingredients I can no longer eat. My experience of transitioning from eating wheat/gluten and dairy to no longer eating it was a rough and tumble one, at best. But it taught me how to navigate the tricky world of life with food allergies.
I hope to bring the lessons I’ve learned from my writing and multipotentialite career, living with food allergies, as well as the amazing education I received at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and my own personal studies to InkyBites.
In my former multipotentialite lives I was a magazine editor, freelance writer, web content producer, jewelry designer, waitress and men’s clothing connoisseur, among other things. But I always have been and always will be a writer.
More About Weiland
Weiland (“Why-lind”) is my almost-three-year-old red Toy Poodle. He’s named after Scott Weiland of the band Stone Temple Pilots. He brings more joy and creativity to my life then I ever realized a dog could. He inspires me and makes me laugh on a daily basis. I couldn’t have asked for a better best friend than him.
I look forward to getting to know you!
